This workshop is part of UNIC InterTeach – professional development programme for university teachers under the theme CBL. In this workshop you will meet university educators of partner-universities of the UNIC-Alliance, who are based in: Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.
In this international setting you will prepare one original closed asynchronous material for use in classes conducted using the CBL (in any electronic form – e.g. film, series of photos with text, guide or other text-visual resource) and one original open material to be completed by students (in any form – e.g. worksheet, form, open flipchart or online space) sent as a scan or photo or link to the created visual space. The prepared materials will be evaluated in terms of their usefulness in the CBL, methodological correctness, user-friendliness and usefulness in facilitating classes. The prepared materials need to be sent to the workshop faciliators until 20 January 2026.
The goals of the workshop are:
to learn about the principles of creating teaching materials that support the facilitation of classes conducted with the Challenge Based Learning (CBL).
to learn the principles of creating teaching materials that support independent acquisition of knowledge necessary to participate in practical courses, which are useful from the perspective of the eye and brain and serve to record and visualise own achievements.
to achieve the skills to critically evaluate own teaching materials for asynchronous work and in the classroom, also in terms of their usefulness in the context of the CBL, the specifics of own classes and scientific discipline.
to achieve the skills to design asynchronous (closed) materials, materials to be supplemented by Students (open) and to create spaces for collaboration useful when working with the CBL.
to increase readiness to conduct practical courses using the CBL through conscious preparation for each teaching session.
The workshop will take place online via MS Teams and be held in English (lingua franca). Invitations will be sent in advance of the workshops to the email addresses provided in the application form – important: it is mandatory to join the meeting via the email address to which the invitation was sent – by clicking on the link. In addition, a week before each workshop, a reminder about the upcoming meeting will be sent to the participants' email addresses.
Attention: All UNIC courses are part of the extended module Lehren & Lernen. AEs awarded for participation in UNIC courses will be credited for Lehren & Lernen only.
